To be a respectful researcher, good ethics is one important factor. But this could not be the case in reality. As an example, some senior member of staff may misuse his/her administrative power to 'steal' the main credit of the excellent research mainly done by the young academic colleagues, while overlook or diminish the young researcher's real contribution. In most such events, it could bring a high level stress to the victims, and strongly undermine their research passion.
